This was a song I was going to include in last week’s post. It speaks directly to how a father’s view of their son (or child) is vitally important. And although I would not want the chorus as a conclusion for me or my son the song’s character is actually in a place of power in recognizing the gender specific issue is actually not his, but rather his father’s.
The song is from the brilliant Broadway musical Kinky Boots and here the legendary Billy Porter who plays Lola/Simon sings it. I recently saw the production in NYC with my wife and son, and Wayne Brady played Lola and he was amazing!
Love this song and Loved this show!
